Mr. Am is the man who has lived for millions of years. After Daddy and
the Asp were
killed, he brought them back to life. He saved the Asp "just for practice."
Some have speculated that Am is God. Am was Gray's first venture into
the spiritual or supernatural. Mr. Am's conversations with Annie were very
philosophical as he tried to show Annie that there were many ways of
looking at the world.
